Ramblings of an Architect

Lets assume you want build a new custom home, develop that office project or simply have a home addition design and built.  What is the first step you should take? You should search for a qualified architect.  OK, now i know there are a bunch of architects working at every type of firm large and small and everything in between.  Each will say ‘Yep, we are the best and the right choice’.  So how do you actually select the architect that is best for you and your project?  Well, i am an architect and i will tell you generally how i would go about it.
